Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, Egypt under the administration of Prof. Sahar Elgowilly (AU), Head of the department of pharmacology and toxicology and the head of the AU team, hosted the meeting. The meeting was held for the purpose of orientation and discussion of Gap analysis and survey.
Prof. Sahar Elgowilly (AU) presented a detailed overview and allowed two-way discussion on the action plan of Gap analysis. AU team members discussed possible methods of overviewing the data available regarding the setting of pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine as well as the approaches to preparing the needed surveys. She also demonstrated different surveys that have been prepared on previous projects in this regard, in order to achieve the deliverables of Gap analysis.
Dr. Amani sorour and Dr. Nehal Elmansoury members were assigned for surveys the existence of pharmacogenomics healthcare service as well as Academic and Social needs for the program in EG (surveying hospital and community pharmacists as well as academic needs mentor surveying), Dr. Heba Metwaly was assigned for hospital surveying, Dr. Salwa Aburageh was assigned for surveying the literature on PGx awareness, knowledge, and interest in EG, through surveys on community/hospital pharmacies and literature synthesis as well as Pharmacogenomics educational status.
