It is a two-year program, the first year is a diploma and the second year is an optional master’s degree.
It is a postgraduate degree, and only graduates can apply.
There will be summer school training sessions, which will be announced soon on the website and social media platforms.
Both the diploma and master’s degree include practical sessions. The thesis is required only for the master’s degree.
The theoretical part will be E-learning on Moodle along with E-Labs. However, some practical sessions will be on-campus.
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Alexandria Universities, under the administration of the pharmaceutical biochemistry department, is building a pharmacogenomic unit funded by the Erasmus project.
The accreditation from the Supreme Council of Universities was granted in September 2023.
Enrollment in the program is free during the Erasmus funding. After the program accreditation fees will be determined by Alexandria University.
According to the initial program regulations, it is required to be a pharmacy graduate. While the certificates are allowed to pharmaceutical sciences, medicine, and biotechnology graduates.
The two main hospitals that emphasize the importance of pharmacogenomics in Egypt are the Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 and the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation. Both are partners in the project.
