OPPM All Partners Meeting in Oviedo, Spain

All partners meeting of the Online Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine (OPPM) program led by the Faculty of Pharmacy – the University of Alexandria at the University of Oviedo, Asturias, Spain. The project targets medical personnel in public and private hospitals and public healthcare authorities concerned with health-related issues.

The University of Oviedo, Spain “UNIOVI” hosted Prof. Ahmed Wahid Mahmoud, the coordinator of the project and the acting head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, and some of his team members from universities, academic institutions, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Egypt, Lebanon, and Europe.

The program of pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine was developed through a project funded by the European Union (Capacity Building in Higher Education – KA2+ Erasmus). It is a postgraduate and master’s program that aims to provide scientific content in an electronic way through which it can reach the largest number of beneficiaries of pharmacists and doctors at home and abroad.

OPPM is a two-year postgraduate academic program. The first year is a diploma with two modules. The second year is optional and leads to a master’s degree. The program consists of fourteen courses. All of the course coordinators have presented an overview of the course prepared by their institution. The ILOs, objectives, course structure, and exemplary slides were shown.
